The back page of a Resort Brochure
which details accomodations available
in Alpine in the late 1800's.
From the Alpine Historical Society Collection.
The extensive collection of local newspapers is the foundation for the Society's document archives. Local newspapers include The Alpine Echo and The Alpine Sun and a few others that lasted only briefly.
The collection is available for viewing and copying. Please call to make an appointment.
Preserving the newspaper collection is one of our biggest goals. We are seeking grant funds to allow us to scan and digitize the collection to preserve it for future generations.
The museum is also home to many books which document the history of Alpine. These books have been made possible by the dedicated work of Alpine's historical researchers. In addition to Beatrice LaForce, Albert Simonson and Barbara Cater have contributed greatly to our archives.
